I took an early morning walk along Waterford River a couple of days ago with the intent of putting my B+W ND110 Neutral Density filter through its paces. It's great being able to take 30 second exposures in broad daylight. This filter should be used with caution though. It can become very addictive!

Another Grey Foggy Day
I went down to Flatrock to get a haircut yesterday and took along my camera for the ride. I know you're thinking Paradise to Flatrock for a haircut is quite a distance to go. Well, since Dinah left Mr. Austin's I haven't been able to get a decent haircut by anybody so the trip to Dinah's house is well worth it to me. Here are 2 shots from the trip. I love foggy days. They make for interesting subjects.

Rachel's New Swing Set
We had planned on buying Rachel a swing set when she was old enough to enjoy it. My late father-in-law suggested we buy her a good wooden set instead of those cheap metal versions. When he passed away in July of last year he left money to all his children and we decided to use some of it to buy Rachel a swing set as a gift from him. This way he can always be remembered by her for years to come.
The swing set...
Rachel posing with her new toy...
Ready for a slide...
And again...
Playing with her spyglass...
Up the ladder...
And down the slide...

Mout Scio Road Trip
I love the way fog tends to mystify the ordinary. A simple tree in the fog can be such an interesting subject.
I was on my way to the east end of St. John's one day under a blanket of fog. I passed this tire swing and thought it looked rather special. I didn't have my camera with me at the time so I had to wait for another day of fog. Well, in St. John's we don't have to wait long for that.
A very interesting house on Mount Scio road. I visualize an old witch stirring a boiling cauldron with several small children cowering in the corner.
With this image i tried to convey an old haunted house movie feeling. To me it screams Stephen King's "Salem's Lot".
